However, there are additional projects that could be undertaken once this is complete, but those technical endeavours are out-of-scope for this repo. So creating mods would be a lot easier as C code is much easier to consume than ASM. After this is created, you essentially have a C project that can be compiled into Melee, but it won't be portable (aka you can't compile it to run on a normal computer). This is entirely for research and archival purposes. Note that this project's purpose is to only match the ASM with C code. We're also happy to answer any questions in the #melee channel on Discord.įAQ What can be done after decompiling Melee? If you're new to Git and don't know how to create a pull request, we encourage you to create an issue with your link and a maintainer will add your code to the repository. Before opening a pull request, please read our contributing guidelines. I assume there may also be similar issues with other games but you can try enabling that option and test it with wind /doldecomp/melee/build-linux:latest ContributingĬontributions are welcome! If you're new to decomp, check out our Getting Started guide. It causes a small issue with SSBM where the background music won't play from time to time but loading stages becomes almost instantaneous. There's an option in the nintendont settings called "unlock read speed" (or similar) which will make games load significantly faster. Most modern SD cards are class 10, which is already way faster than the maximum wii read speed. The SD card class is labeled as a number with a circle around it on the card itself, usually below the manufacturer logo, on the right. What class is your SD card rated as? It's possible that the framedrops occur due to slow read speeds. I own wind waker and used to play it on my gamecube but it's been a while so I'm not sure if the game simply has framedrops from time to time, or whether it's an issue with your setup/nintendont settings. I haven't played many gamecube games outside of melee using a hacked wii.
